What is the length of the contract agreement for a medical alert system?
The contract is on a month by month
basis. Each month you will receive a bill. If
for any reason you want to discontinue service, you simply call us and we
will pick up the equipment and stop the
monitoring of your system. |

How much does the medical alert
system equipment cost?
The equipment is furnished when you
sign up for the service so you are buying nothing. |

A Are the transmitters for
the medical alert systems waterproof?
Yes, the transmitters for the systems
are waterproof. The transmitters are sealed and offer approximately 5 years of
service. Should a battery go dead, we will exchange it for a new one free of
charge. |
|

|
|
̣ |
Is Is the equipment guaranteed?
Yes, the equipment is guaranteed for
as long as you have it in your home. If you have a problem we will come
out and repair or replace the unit for free. The only way you could incur a
service call you would be charged for is if you would accidentally damage the
unit (i.e. drop something on it, or knock it off a table…) or lose a
transmitter. |

W What is the signal range of a
medical alert system?
This varies with each installation.
Normally, the signal works great throughout the home. When you venture outside
the home and the signal has to pass through the exterior walls, it may affect
the strength of the signal. When we do an installation, we will walk throughout
the house so you know what your perimeters are. |

|
|
|
̣ |
D Does the system rely
only on electric for power?
No, each system has a rechargeable
battery backup built into it. Should the power go off the unit will
automatically switch over to the battery. When the power comes back on, the
unit switches back to electricity and automatically recharges the back-up
battery pack. |
|
|
|
|
̣ |
W What is the monitoring
schedule?
All units are monitored 24 hours a day seven days a
week by Philips Lifeline. The center has an emergency backup system in
place to insure you 24-hour monitoring. |

How long
does it take to install a medical alert system?
It normally takes about an hour and a half to do an installation. We
come out to your home, install the system, fill out the paperwork, check the
signal range, get the unit activated with the response center, and take the time
to sit down with the client to make sure they understand the system and how it
works before we leave.
